As deeply intertwined as they are, mental health isn’t discussed often in the world of fitness. It is often a matter of mental health that can prevent people from engaging in the activities required to meet their fitness goals, especially if their goals require actions well beyond their usual lifestyle and willingness.

Interestingly, it may very well be exercise itself that can potentially provide an outlet for people to improve their mental health which might hopefully provide a clearer path in taking continued action for their goals, be it weight loss, building muscle, getting stronger, and so on. According to a new study, the type and intensity of exercise can have different effects on mental health factors, like anxiety and depression. Let’s check this new study out and see if we can use the information it provides to help ourselves improve on this very important aspect of life.

  1. It doesn’t matter what type of exercise you do, it only matters how intense, how long your workout is, and how many months or years you workout.

  2. The best exercise for mental health is to walk outside with trees and wide view of the sky optionally with a friend and it’s better in the morning. Just get your heart rate up. Go on a bike to go faster if that makes it more fun. Just 5 min a day for mental health

  3. That’s abother reason to change the routine every 12 weeks / 3 months. For a non professional it’s good because that keep the adherence high and keep the novelty and motivation for new things

  4. Its true every form of fitness improves the mental health significantly and definetly is a huge pillar of keeping you clearminded

  5. That’s abother reason to change the routine every 12 weeks / 3 months. For a non professional it’s good because that keep the adherence high and keep the novelty and motivation for new things

  6. Not a huge fan of the mouth moving in the videos… but maybe that’s just me. Otherwise, great video as always 😉

  7. I feel extremely depressed and lonely i feel unworthy of anyone’s attention i don’t even like myself im hoping by just going to the gym i could learn to atbthe very least tolerate eho i am as a person

  8. ive been working out for 5years+ spend min 5days a week for 2 hours minimum for single session and still depressed 🙁

  9. I’m suffering from depression, anxiety, panic attack. I decided to back to my workout routine which I used to do before. First day was really exhausted, the next day I lost motivation. I pushed myself to workout. It’s been 1 week. Now I’m really feel a little bit better than before ❤

  10. Thanks for the info. <150mins per week of moderate to high intensity? Very useful. The framing of the benefit over time seems odd. Surely it’s a degree of improvement from baseline, indicating asymptotic gains. In which case longer is better. The way it’s framed, that’s not clear.

  11. Running has helped me stabilise my mood, would recommend for those looking to learn about themselves should give it a try

  12. It’s either you have it in you, or don’t,, been training for 13 years naturally, I don’t have a body of a Greek statue but I enjoy being stronger than average

  13. After following this channel for YEARS I’m not sure if I’m a fan of the moving mouth…. Maybe something we have to get used to?

  14. Another scientific mumbo jumbo. Working out alone won’t make your depression go away, maybe it does at the beginning, I’ve tried. Without a clear goal in your life, working out won’t help you fix your mental health.

  15. The best exercise to improve your mental health is heavy squats. You are literally fighting your inner demons in the concentric phase
